Hey, ladies! My name is Kaylee Sanchez, my daughter is Akaya India, and I'm married to my wonderful man, Jefté (Jef-Tay).
I currently live in Suquamish, which is across town from the house I grew up in from 2-18 years old. After graduating in 2005 from Kings West High School in Bremerton, I went to George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon to study Education and Spanish, and to play soccer. After 2 years, I migrated south to finish my studies at Azusa Pacific University in Southern California. I stopped playing competitive soccer in order to spend significant time studying abroad in the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
Toward the end of my studies, I met Jefté and we felt the most instant connection. We quickly fell in love. I thought I'd stay in LA near his family, but when visiting my family, I interviewed for a Spanish teaching position at the private K-8 school I went to as a kid and got the job. A year into teaching, Jefté moved to WA and we got married. After 5 years of teaching, I decided to stay home with my new little baby girl. It was so hard to say goodbye to all my students, but I’ve been loving this transition into motherhood.
I’m excited to be a Stroller Strides instructor because it quickly became one of my favorite new activities as a mother, and I hope to continue creating that environment for current and new moms and kids. I grew up playing team sports and I want to bring that energy and camaraderie that comes from working out with a group of women to my workouts.
