Tell us about yourself and your family.
I'm originally from O'ahu, Hawai'i where I also had met my husband, Joseph. He is in the Navy and that's how we ended up here in Washington state with our little girl, Amari.
What surprised you the most once you became a mom?
I think for me, the most surprising thing was not feeling an instant connection to my baby as soon as she was born. I bonded with our baby during pregnancy and had heard stories of how amazing the connection with your baby is the day of their birth. That wasn't the case for me, I felt I was handed this tiny human and didn't really know what to do. Luckily with time, my baby and I now have a great bond.
Why did you join FIT4MOM? Why do you love it?
I originally joined FIT4MOM because I wanted to get active after having my baby. I was never the type of person to got to the gym or workout at home so I needed something with routine and structure as well as daycare. After my first class, I was surprised that my body was sore for a few days. In addition, I love that I also get to be a part of a great village! I've met some awesome mamas and my baby gets to play with little ones her age as well.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? If you didn't have any obstacles, what dream would you pursue?
In five years I hope that I'm able to travel internationally as well as be in a career that I absolutely love.
What is your favorite go to piece of baby gear?
My favorite baby gear for my little one are her headbands!
Any advice for new moms?
My advice to new mamas is to trust your instinct! No one knows your baby the way you do, so only you can make the best choice for them.
