Tell us about yourself and your family.
I'm Stephanie, I've been married to my husband for going on 7 years, but been together for a total of 13 years. We have 2 littles, Juliana (4) and Noah (8 months). We both are native from Los Angeles, California and moved to Washington when my husband got stationed here almost 6 years ago.
What surprised you the most once you became a mom?
I think what surprised me the most is that I've totally become the overprotective mama bear and helicopter mom! Lol
Why did you join FIT4MOM? Why do you love it?
I joined fit4mom because I wanted to get back into shape and re-ignite my love for fitness again.....I had put my health and fitness in the back burner since becoming a mom and finally felt like I was at a place where I wanted to and was able to carve out time especially for me and my health so I could be a more confident and happier version of myself for my family.
You are our first mom to go through all of our programs, from FIT4BABY to Stroller Strides to Body Back. What is one thing you loved about each class?
1 commonality of all 3 programs that I enjoyed the most was the connection with other mamas to be/moms, we were/are all on similar journeys to motherhood going through very similar trials and tribulations, I enjoyed the interaction and connection while focusing on being more healthy and working out and also the events associated around the fit4mom community.
Fit4baby specifically I enjoyed relaxing at the end of class with the words of wisdom/mantra that always focused on connecting with baby, it was nice to stop and be in the moment of being pregnant since my days and weeks during pregnancy seemed like a blur and flew by.
Stroller Strides I loved loved loved having a special time to workout while having Noah with me, incorporating him into the workouts singing to him and tickling him, seeing him laugh at me and smile while I jumped around in front of him lol.
Body back has been an awesome experience to spend an hour with amazing mamas who kick butt each and every workout. Who not only support you but motivate you to push harder in the workout. Love my BB posse!
What would you tell someone thinking about joining?
I tell ALL the mommas I know. Just try it out! Do it! It's free to try out and I Promise you wont regret it! Even if your dying the first time because it's been a while since you've worked out it's such a positive atmosphere, theres no judgement and you'll feel great that you did!
Any words of wisdom for other moms?
Accept help when its offered, you can still be super mom but can get help from family/friends. Mommas need breaks too physically and mentally from time to time so we are our best version of ourselves for our family.
What is your favorite go to piece of baby/kid gear?
I have to say I love my ergo baby carrier, I've utilized soooo much to run in and out of places with Noah in tow and he also enjoys it, since he's held upright able to see everything.
What are your 3 favorite things?
-my fitbit (I'm super competitive with steps!)
-sweater weather 3 wick candles from Bath&body works
Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us!
I love repurposing old furniture or antique pieces as a hobby, I have various pieces in my house that I've done and wish I could do it full time for work if it paid the Bills!
